Richard Van Den Bergh Chairman

Richard van den Bergh is the Chairman of Palace Ventures Ltd an FSA authorised investment and corporate finance firm whose joint-venture partner, Ithmaar Bank, is EnQii's ultimate controlling shareholder.
Richard has over 35 years business experience spanning a wide range of industries and geographies, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. He started his career with Arthur Andersen in London and Geneva, qualifying as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales in 1976. His subsequent career was with WS Atkins Group, Battelle Institute in Germany and the InterMatrix Group, where he was Managing Director. Following the sale of much of the InterMatrix business in 2000, he joined Hutchison 3G, initially to support the bid process for the UK 3G license. On winning the latter, he was appointed to the Executive Board as Marketing Director.
Until EnQii's acquisition of Digital View Media, Richard was, for 4 years, a Non-Executive Director of Digital View Group. In this capacity and through other activities, he has become very familiar with the digital media sector.
Richard has a number of Non-Executive Board positions including VS Design Works, Oracle Tanker Chartering and MoVo PLC.
Richard has an MA in Economics from Cambridge University and speaks German. He is authorised by the FSA as an Investment Manager and Corporate Finance Advisor.

Ajay Chowdhury Chief Executive Officer

Before joining EnQii, Ajay co-founded Acacia Capital Partners and IDG Ventures Europe, the European venture capital arm of IDG, the world's leading IT media publisher. Prior to starting IDGVE, Ajay was European President and CEO of NBC Internet - a NASDAQ quoted integrated media company - and was responsible for setting up their European operations.
Prior to joining NBCi he was Chief Executive of LineOne - a joint venture between United News and Media and British Telecom - which he helped grow into one of the UK's largest portals and Internet Service Providers and which was subsequently sold to Tiscali.
He joined United News and Media in 1991 and was founder and Managing Director of United Interactive - its new media division. United Interactive grew to encompass Anglia Multimedia, one of the UK's leading educational publishers; Definition Digital Media, a UK web agency; and AngliaCampus, an online educational service for schools and homes, which were subsequently sold to Granada PLC.
Before joining United, he was a manager at Bain & Company, the international management consultants where he ran projects in Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Germany and the UK.
Ajay has an MBA from Wharton and a Bachelor of Commerce from Bombay University. He studied Theatre Directing at the Central School of Speech and Drama and Film Directing at the Metropolitan Film School at Ealing Studios.
Ajay is also Artistic Director of the Rented Space Theatre Company and an executive committee member of the British Screen Advisory Council. He has also served on the boards of Lionhead Studios (sold to Microsoft in April 2006), Shazam Entertainment, MLA (Museums, Libraries and Archives Commission), Index on Censorship and Virtual Internet PLC (sold to Register.com in February 2002).
In 2005, Ajay was selected by the Institute of Asian Professionals to be part of the Asian Power 100 - the 100 most influential and powerful Asians in the UK.

Tom Hawkins Chief Financial Officer

Tom Hawkins was previously Chief Financial Officer of NESTA (National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts). At NESTA he was responsible for their investment management, finance, property management, information and communication technologies, risk management and compliance as well as legal and human resource matters.
Before joining NESTA, Tom was a divisional Chief Financial Officer with French media and technology group, Lagardere. His experience ranges from venture-backed start-ups to large multinational groups.
Tom is a prize-winning chartered accountant. He has a Masters in Mathematics (Cambridge, scholarship winner) and Management (London Business School, Sloan Fellow with distinction).
In his spare time, Tom enjoys photography, trekking and scuba-diving.

Matthew Barnes Non Executive Director

Matthew is a Director of and Head of Corporate Advisory at Palace Ventures Ltd, whose joint-venture partner, Ithmaar Bank, is EnQii's ultimate controlling shareholder.
Matthew qualified as a corporate lawyer with Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw. He then moved into investment banking, working with HSBC, Granville Baird and NatWest. He holds the Advanced Corporate Finance Diploma, and is authorised as a Securities Representative by the FSA.
Through his work at NatWest Bank, Matthew advised interactive television company Digital Impact, in which he became Managing Director. He significantly increased its revenues and profitability before overseeing its sale to YooMedia plc.
Matthew then became Managing Director of VS Design Works, a design and marketing services specialist, and remains a Non-Executive Director. He has recently been involved with a number of sports ventures and a medical device business.
