Ajay Chowdhury
Chief Executive Officer

Before joining EnQii, Ajay co-founded Acacia Capital Partners and IDG Ventures Europe, the European venture capital arm of IDG, the world's leading IT media publisher. Prior to starting IDGVE, Ajay was European President and CEO of NBC Internet - a NASDAQ quoted integrated media company - and was responsible for setting up their European operations.

Prior to joining NBCi he was Chief Executive of LineOne - a joint venture between United News and Media and British Telecom - which he helped grow into one of the UK's largest portals and Internet Service Providers and which was subsequently sold to Tiscali.

He joined United News and Media in 1991 and was founder and Managing Director of United Interactive - its new media division. United Interactive grew to encompass Anglia Multimedia, one of the UK's leading educational publishers; Definition Digital Media, a UK web agency; and AngliaCampus, an online educational service for schools and homes, which were subsequently sold to Granada PLC.

Before joining United, he was a manager at Bain & Company, the international management consultants where he ran projects in Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Germany and the UK.

Ajay has an MBA from Wharton and a Bachelor of Commerce from Bombay University. He studied Theatre Directing at the Central School of Speech and Drama and Film Directing at the Metropolitan Film School at Ealing Studios.

Ajay is also Artistic Director of the Rented Space Theatre Company and an executive committee member of the British Screen Advisory Council. He has also served on the boards of Lionhead Studios (sold to Microsoft in April 2006), Shazam Entertainment, MLA (Museums, Libraries and Archives Commission), Index on Censorship and Virtual Internet PLC (sold to Register.com in February 2002).

In 2005, Ajay was selected by the Institute of Asian Professionals to be part of the Asian Power 100 - the 100 most influential and powerful Asians in the UK.


James Abdool
President - EMEA

James joined EnQii after completing the sale of his family's digital out of home audio business of 33 years. Having joined TSC Music Systems Ltd in 1994 after completing his degree in Marketing, he was instrumental in growing the client base ten-fold through new market sector penetration and, more recently, internationally.

Recurring revenue models have been at the forefront of the major client wins that James has secured in the retail, leisure and hospitality markets. Working with clients he has helped extend their in-store marketing solutions and drive sales through added-value models. Having taken the decision to expand out of the UK, several major retail clients chose TSC to provide the digital in-store audio solution for their global brand achieving rollouts in 17 countries within 2 years.

As well as driving sales and spearheading all marketing activity, James has been involved in software development, licensing arrangements and most recently he managed the Company sale process to an industry Plc.

In 2003 James embarked on a 3 year non-executive term with the NHS in Crawley where his involvement concentrated on corporate governance, strategic leadership, IM&T and patient and public involvement.

Outside of work, James enjoys travel with his young family, golf, cars and music.


Stuart Armstrong
President - North America

With over 20 years' experience in assisting companies achieve their strategic and communication objectives, Stuart has led in the creation and adoption of sales and marketing best practices.

Stuart's career is marked by an early recognition of the potential of digital media solutions to drive companies' productivity and performance. Prior to joining Digital View Media, Stuart was Vice President at Euro RSCG Meridian, a leading consulting firm to the consumer goods and retailing industries. In addition to his responsibilities with Meridian, Stuart also served as liaison to Euro RSCG Partners, a true integrated marketing communications agency. In this role, Stuart identified opportunities with existing and prospective clients to create media-neutral strategies utilizing a variety of marketing strategies and tactics.

Prior to Meridian, Stuart was VP of Sales for Gelco Information Network, a leading provider of trade management B2B solutions to the consumer goods industry. Previously, he served as President and Founding Partner of Performance Wave, Inc., which developed, sold and serviced the industry's first web-based Category and Promotional Management solution. Performance Wave was acquired by Gelco in April 1999.

His early career is highlighted with positions at Information Resources Inc. as Director of Product Management and Product Marketing and the founding in 1989 of one of the first B2B multimedia agencies in the US, L.A. Image.


Brian Boakes
Director of Strategic Marketing

Brian joined EnQii Holdings in April 2007 following more than 13 years experience in the Broadcast and Media industries. During this time Brian held a number of roles at British Telecom (BT) including Head of Sales and Advertising for BT Cable TV Services and saw through the early interactive TV (near Video on Demand) trials in the mid-nineties.

Working across a range of disciplines - from international Market and Business Development to Strategy - Brian witnessed first hand the impact of media fragmentation and resulting challenges that are faced by traditional broadcasters, corporate organisations, brands, and in particular, retailers, who need to dynamically and effectively communicate with their customers and employees. Brian brings a deep understanding of the fusion between Media, Marketing and Technology - critical to optimising digital in-store and other Out Of Home (OOH) communications.

In addition to driving OOH Digital Media growth for BT, Brian also played an active role in the wider development of the digital media industry and was a member of The Screen Members Operating Committee for 18 months, prior to joining EnQii.


Tom Hawkins
Chief Financial Officer

Tom Hawkins was previously Chief Financial Officer of NESTA (National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts). At NESTA he was responsible for their investment management, finance, property management, information and communication technologies, risk management and compliance as well as legal and human resource matters.

Before joining NESTA, Tom was a divisional Chief Financial Officer with French media and technology group, Lagardere. His experience ranges from venture-backed start-ups to large multinational groups.

Tom is a prize-winning chartered accountant. He has a Masters in Mathematics (Cambridge, scholarship winner) and Management (London Business School, Sloan Fellow with distinction).

In his spare time, Tom enjoys photography, trekking and scuba-diving.


Joe Rossi
President - Asia Pacific

Prior to EnQii, Joe worked as a management consultant within Andersen for almost 10 years. As a management consultant, Joe worked for a number of international clients across the Asia Pacifica region including ACNielsen, WPP, Dole Food Group, PCCW, JDS Uniphase, Marconi, Cadbury Schweppes and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Joe's role as the regional client engagement director for various clients across Asia Pacific spanned across the following countries including Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, China, Korea, Japan, The Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, New Zealand and Australia.

Joe is a board advisor to i-Vision, a specialist in-store media company, focusing on the pharmacy sector in Australia. Joe is also the founder of Screen Edge, an EnQii owned company. He is the relationship director for some pioneering networks in the region and a regular spokesman at industry conferences. Joe is based in Hong Kong.


Michael Willems
Chief Technology Officer

Michael Willems has been instrumental in developing the Group's proprietary market leading Network and Content Management System, RemoteTransfer. Toronto-based, he leads the Software Development and IT teams; he also provides active strategic and implementation support on a global basis to major clients seeking to optimise the use of Digital Media Networks in their operations.

Michael has an Engineering degree from London University; Prior to joining Digital View Media, he had over 20 years' experience in telecommunications, information services, software sales and engineering, marketing, and technology management. Before joining Digital View in 2000, he was Channel Sales Director at KL Group Software. Prior to that, he was President and CTO of Ixonet Marketing Technology; his early career includes positions at Philips Telecommunications International, where he developed his knowledge of High Availability Systems and project management.

Michael has worked across 5 continents and has been based in Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East.

In his spare time, he enjoys Photography, Amateur Radio, and operating other machinery ranging from Cessna aircraft to his Land Rover.
